The crossroads have always spoken to me. As a devotee of Hekate, I know them not just as mythical thresholds but as living spaces where choices, spirits, and power converge. They are places of liminality, neither here nor there, but charged with all possibilities. To be a witch in today’s fractured world is to live perpetually at such crossroads, doing the work to bring about better days.
My practice has been shaped by years of eclectic, progressive Wicca and, more recently, by the Gardnerian tradition, but always by the lived, daily work of weaving magic into mundane life. Through meditation and ritual, through herb craft and devotion, I return again and again to the understanding that witchcraft is not an escape from the world. No! Witchcraft allows me to meet the world fully, fiercely, and powerfully.
When I began work as a spiritual counselor, first under the name Tree of Life Evolution, and later under the name Silver Moonlight Botanicals, it wasn’t just about creating oils, incenses, and teas. It was, and is, about offering tools for transformation. For transforming ourselves through healing and spiritual development, but also for acquiring the tools needed to transform the world around us. For witches have always been outsiders and agitators, healers and weavers, and priestesses calling down the moon to stand in our power.
We are living in a time where the political, social, and ecological landscape feels deeply unstable. Injustice and cruelty are not abstract headlines; they press against our bodies, our homes, and our spirits. And yet, witchcraft gives us language and tools to engage with these realities differently. To step into the liminal, to find the hidden path forward, to weave small acts of magic into larger movements of change.
At the crossroads, we are asked to choose. To look unflinchingly at the world as it is, but also to imagine what it could be. Witchcraft teaches us that we do not wait for permission to create change. We set the circle, we light the flame, we make the offering, and we step forward.
This blog, Crossroads in Moonlight, is my torch for the journey. It will be a space where I explore and weave the threads between witchcraft, spiritual development, healing, and politics, and where I invite you to walk those threads with me.
A Simple Crossroads Ritual for Clarity, Wisdom, and Courage
On a quiet evening, light a candle and place it at the center of your altar or table.
Place three small objects (stones, herbs, coins, or anything meaningful) in a “Y” shape around it, symbolizing three possible roads.
Stand before them, take three deep breaths, and say:
“ Hail Hekate, Guardian of the Crossroads, light my path. Let me see clearly. Let me know wisdom. Let me choose with courage.”
Sit with the flame. Notice which “road” draws your attention. Journal what arises.
In closing, thank the goddess, and you may choose to leave a small offering of incense, wine, and/or food.
We are not powerless at the crossroads. In the liminal spaces, remember we witches are truly at our most powerful. Step into that power, and with every choice, every spell, every act of healing or resistance, we weave the world anew.
Welcome to the journey. Welcome to Crossroads in Moonlight.
